The thread lift is the first of its kind, minimally invasive, non-surgical facial rejuvenation technique which uses absorbable threads to combat facial skin laxity and restore some degree of youthfulness to the face, neck or jawline- resulting in a natural, “subtle” but visible lift of the skin.
In a thread lift procedure, PDO dissolvable threads that have little barbs on them are passed beneath the surface of the skin. As the thread is pulled, the barbs hold on the tissue and re-suspend the skin at a lifted more youthful position. The body naturally absorbs the threads in 6-8 months: however, the effect can last 12-24 months. It is recommended to have a maintenance plan where you have a combo of smooth and barbed threads placed to maintain the lift.
Research shows threads promote a natural repositioning of the facial tissue and stimulates collagen regeneration that provides an ongoing and progressive rejuvenation of the facial tissues. Essentially, threads initiate the bodies natural healing process which stimulates collagen production. As we age, we have a reduction of collagen, elastin, facial fat, muscle mass, and bone density. Collagen helps support "growth factors" that influence the condition of our skin. When we force the body to initiate the healing process we are fighting against the aging process and increasing collagen and elastin.

Downtime after a Thread Lift treatment is minimal (2-3 days), but you may experience some slight bruising or swelling in the days following your procedure and some mild tension in the areas that have been lifted. Thread lifts should be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan which may include fillers, botox, or platelet-rich fibrin to achieve the youthful, natural results patients are looking for.
